Account Creation/Modification/Deletion

  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Click "Change My Information & Settings".
Q. How do I change my password?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Click "Change My Information & Settings".
  • Scroll down to the "Change Password" section and complete the form.
Q. How do I delete my account?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Click "Change My Information & Settings".
  • Scroll down to the "Delete Account Section" and click "Delete Account".
  • By deleting your account, you delete your profile, pictures, and messages that you have sent and received on WorldLounge. Any events you have posted will not be deleted.
Submitting Pictures

Q. What type of pictures are accepted?
A.
  • You must clearly appear in every photo. The following is a partial list of what is not accepted:
        Photos of celebrities
        Photos of cartoons
        Photos of cars, boats, planes, etc...
        Photos containing nudity or sexual behavior
        Baby pictures
        Photos of pets
  • Rejection of photos is at our discretion and cannot be contested.
Q. How do I add pictures to my profile?
A.
  • Click "My Page" on the toolbar. If you do not see the "My Page" link, you must first sign into your account by clicking here.
  • Once you click "My Page" you will see the "Submit Your Picture" section.
  • Click the browse button and select the picture (file) you want to submit.
  • After clicking OK, enter a brief description of the picture (i.e. I'm wearing blue pants).
  • After entering your description, click "Submit".
Q. My picture is surrounded by a lot of "white space". What could be wrong?
A.
  • A common problem people have when scanning images is they scan the entire scanner as opposed to scanning just the image. If your image appears something like the image on the right, you are experiencing this exact problem.
  • Since every scanner has different scanning software, it is difficult to give exact steps to correct this. Basically, after preview scanning your image, select the "selection tool" and draw a box around the section of the image you want scanned. After making the selection, click "Final Scan".
  • If your scanning software does not give you the options described above, you will need to open your image with an image editor and "crop" the section of the image which you want to keep. If you don't have an image editor you can download a free one at http://www.irfanview.com
Q. How do I convert my images to JPG format?
A.
  • To convert your image to a JPG, open your image with your image editor and do "File", "Save As", and select "JPG" as the file type.

Q. How do I delete one of my pictures?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Pictures" section and identify the picture you want to delete.
  • Click the trash can on the top right corner to delete the picture.
Q. How do I know if my picture is approved?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Pictures" section.
  • Pictures with a green checkmark on the top right corner means they are approved.
  • Pictures with a red "X" on the top right corner means they are still being reviewed.
Q. What is a thumbnail image? and how do I change it?
A.
  • Your "thumbnail image" is the small preview picture that is displayed in search results.
  • If you want to change which thumbnail picture is displayed in search results, perform the following steps:

  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Pictures" section.
  • Select the "Thumbnail Image" radio button on top of the image you want to be your thumbnail.
Managing Messages

Q. How do I send a message?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Find the person you want to leave a message for by clicking "Pictures" or "Search" on the left toolbar.
  • Fill in the appropriate criteria to perform the search.
  • From the search results, click the member you would like to leave a message for.
  • After clicking the members name, scroll down to the member's message board and click "Leave A Message".
  • Fill out the message form and click "Send Message".
Q. How do I delete a message I have sent?
A.
  • You cannot delete any message you have sent. This works similar to email.
Q. How do I delete a message I have received?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Messages" section.
  • Identify the message(s) you want to delete and check the checkbox.
  • After selecting all the messages you want to delete, click "Delete" at the top of your message board.
Q. How do I mark a message as Private?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Messages" section.
  • Identify the message(s) you want to mark as private and check the checkbox.
  • After selecting all the messages you want to mark as private, click "Private" at the top of your message board.
  • (Private messages are marked with a "Gold Lock" next to them)
Q. How do I mark a message as Public?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Messages" section.
  • Identify the message(s) you want to mark as public and check the checkbox.
  • After selecting all the messages you want to mark as public, click "Public" at the top of your message board.
  • (Public messages are marked with a "Community" icon next to them)
Q. How do I reply to a message I have received?
A.
  • If you have not already signed into your account, Sign-In here.
  • Click "My Page" on the left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the "My Messages" section.
  • Identify the message(s) you want to reply to and click the reply arrow icon.
  • Fill out the message form and click "Send Message".
